About Uganda

The landlocked country of the Republic of Uganda is located in East Africa bordered by Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, and Congo. It was once colonized by the British colony and gained its independence in 1962. The country is admirable because of its savannas, mountains, and lakes. Uganda has a tropical climate and has two dry seasons in a year, December to February and again from June to August. It is the second-largest landlocked country in the world after Ethiopia, and because of that, the country has a lot of treasures. From the people themselves up to their natural abundance. Despite being a landlocked country, a lot of large lakes exist. In fact, the largest Lake in Africa, Lake Victoria, can be found South of Uganda, too, a lake connected to the longest river in the world, the Nile. Near the Lake is the capital city, which is the Kampala.

The Charm of Uganda

The Ugandan people are very much known for being warm, hospitable, and have a friendly environment. You wouldn't be disappointed about taking the time of your life in Uganda because these beautiful people make the country even more alive. In truth, their excellent qualities are verified by an African economist. The country is well known for being one of the friendliest countries in Africa. They show hospitality to welcome you and make you feel at home. It is no doubt that Uganda is called the Pearl of Africa. They are not just offering their good deeds to visitors but also refugees from other neighboring troubled countries. No wonder they gained a positive remark for their qualities worldwide. Aside from these good personalities, your safety is guaranteed in Uganda because the country ensures and continues to provide the visitors' security.

2. A Melting Pot of Ethnic Groups

In the presence of the ethnic groups, Uganda is undoubtedly a place for the people of diversities. It is a country with diverse tribes and cultures with different languages, beliefs, and religions. You will witness how pure and refined their traditions are because it isn't changed by time, even if everyone's changing, climate change, and modernity embrace. They still remain true to their roots and adapt the heritage from their ancestors.

3. One of the Favorite Countries in Africa

You might be wondering why Uganda truly captivates travelers around the world. The answer is simple, it is because of its natural richness and diverse wildlife animals. The picturesque and awe-inspiring natural landscape is definitely a factor that makes the country enjoyable and pleasant to the eyes. You can spend your time in the romantic mountain called 'Mountains of the Moon' because of the blending of pink and blue hues of the sky. You can also meet the wildlife animals, including the famous gorillas. They are one of the highly endangered mountain gorillas, and Uganda is one of the three countries in the world that has them. It is not just the gorillas but also many wildlife, such as hippos, zebras, leopards, and many species of birds. The lush jungle has myriad blooming flowers and fruits. These reasons are some of the country's traits that make tourists label Uganda as one of their favorite countries in Africa.

4. The Lovely Sound of the Birds

For travelers who are fond of different species of birds, Uganda is a perfect destination for your bird paradise experience. The beautiful species are real captivating ones and can melt anyone's heart because of their rare and attractive appearances. Uganda is truly a majestic place to take a glance at the flawless beauty of the different birds. Take photos and share it to the whole world.

5. Ugandans are Naturally Dancers

Have you ever heard about the Africans who ove to dance? They must have established their reputation when it comes to dancing because they actually love to dance. They are enthusiastically excited about dancing, and it is no exception when it comes to the Ugandan. They are ready to move with the beat while wearing the best enchanting traditional dress of their country. Every occasion, it is always celebrated with a dance. There is a cultural practice of the Basoga people in the east called Bigwala music and dance. It is filled with so much passion and pure talent of the people. It always begins with the sound of one trumpet and joined by the other trumpets and percussion instruments. The singers and dancers then form a circular formation around the drummers by swaying their waists slowly and raising their hands enthusiastically. It must be a great privilege to witness this precious and entertaining performance of the Ugandans, right?

6. The Stunning Traditional Dresses

The dress of the Ugandan people complimented their beautiful faces, and it is lovely and great to see them wearing one. Men wear Kanzu, a white or cream-colored robe that reaches the ground. Women wear a Gomesi with a sash tied around their waist and gomesis on their shoulders, which emphasizes pads on their shoulders. These are just some of their beautiful traditional dresses because there are still lots of charming ones. After all, traditional costumes depend on where they are located in the country.
